Basic command parameters to control the TMTM Configuration Agent
The TMTM Configuration Agent is not required for Performance and Availability monitoring. However, it can be installed to manage agent and extension distributions to an agent host. The TMTM Configuration Agent allows extensions to be remotely deployed to the agent host, and updates to both agent and extension components to be made available remotely.
The TMTM Configuration Agent is required for BTM monitoring. It is used to deploy transaction pathway configurations for BTM monitoring extensions.
The TMTM Configuration Agent is required for tunneling Agent connections to the TMTM Service tier.
The TMTM Configuration Service can be configured using the agentpref command line tool. See Changing preferences for the TMTM Configuration Agent for details.
Before you begin
- Verify that the agent has been distributed, installed and configured.
- Ensure that a directory exists in which the TMTM Configuration Agent is to run. See Creating environment directories on the agent machine for the Default layout.
- Verify the MQS_HOME environment variable has been defined and is active in the environment
- Verify the Java Runtime Environment has been installed.
