Additional information about COA/COD

The initial creation or put of the COA (confirmation of arrival) or COD (confirmation of delivery) by the queue manager cannot be monitored because COA and COD do not use the WebSphere MQ API.

When monitoring the COA/COD at other points (such as a channel or receiving application) and any ID (transaction pathway, transaction, or instance) resides in the message data, then these rules apply:

  • If the message data is XML, MQRO_COA_WITH_FULL_DATA or MQRO_COD_WITH_FULL_DATA must be specified.
  • If the message data is not XML and a custom message format is used where the field resides within the first 100 bytes of data (including any RFH2) then MQRO_COA_WITH_DATA or MQRO_COD_WITH_DATA can be specified. If the ID is not within the first 100 bytes, then MQRO_COA_WITH_FULL_DATA or MQRO_COD_WITH_FULL_DATA must be specified.
