Data marts and materialization

As with all BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization views, the Mainframe Short-term Capacity Overview uses predefined Analysis Data Marts, SQL Data Marts, SQL Data Mart Templates, and the associated views and tables that are materialized in the database.

For the Mainframe Short-term Capacity Overview to work correctly, these data marts must be materialized each time new mainframe data is loaded into BMC TrueSight Capacity Optimization; otherwise, new data will not be reflected in the view pages.

By default, the Data Mart Materializer performs materialization of these data marts every day at 9:00 A.M. local time. To ensure that your data is available in the Mainframe Short-term Capacity Overview, the TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes ETL task must be scheduled to finish before 9:00 A.M. Alternatively, you can change the scheduled time for the Mainframe View - Data Mart Materializer task by performing the following actions:

1. From the Administration tab on the TSCO console, navigate to ETL & SYSTEM TASK > System tasks.
2. Click Mainframe View - Data Mart Materializer.
3. Click Unschedule.
4. Click Edit.
5. On the Edit task tab, change the values in the Start Timestamp Hour and Minute fields so that the Mainframe View - Data Mart Materializer task runs after the MF ETL completion time.
6. Click Save.
7. Click Schedule.
