Configuring the CDB Automator

TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes uses a CDB Automator script to populate UIE data into a staging database. To configure the Microsoft Windows server for BMC AMI Capacity Database Web Services, you must perform the following actions:

  • Edit an installed CDB Automator script, configure a system ODBC DSN, and add it to the CDB Automator database catalog.
  • Update the script's Populate event to pull data from the UIE job.
  • Schedule the edited script to run daily.

Note

If you are a TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes user who already maintains CDB data from UIE, you can skip this section.

Starting CDB Automator

To start CDB Automator, perform the following actions:

  1. From the Windows Start menu, navigate to BMC AMI Capacity Management  CDB.
  2. Right-click CDB Automator and select Run as Administrator.

You require Run as Administrator to configure a system ODBC data source and add it to the CDB Automator database catalog. After the configuration process is complete, you can run CDB Automator normally from the Start menu.
