Configuring TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes

Before you configure TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes, you should familiarize yourself with the following BMC Capacity Optimization concepts:

  • Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
  • ETL task
  • ETL run configuration

Data from UIE is transferred and populated into a CDB staging database. To get this data into theBMC TrueSight Capacity OptimizationData Warehouse, you must:

  • Configure the TrueSight Capacity Optimizer for Mainframes ETL task to pull data from the CDB staging database and populate the data warehouse
  • Run the ETL task manually to prepare various system parameters
  • Schedule the ETL task to run automatically to keep the data warehouse updated with the latest information
