Configuring IMS to communicate with MQ

Subzero supports all Message Queue Interface (MQI) calls that IMS supports, including message handle and message property calls.

Getting started

Use the following procedures to enable IMS to communicate with remote MQ subsystems via Subzero.

There are two implementation procedures that can be used to enable IMS connections to remote DB2 subsystems.

Note

You can use a combination of implementation procedures. You can force some MQ connection definitions to use Subzero, and allow the others to be dynamically altered for remote or local connectivity at connection time.

Both of these implementation procedures require that you have:

  • Configured and started the Subzero environment on the local and remote LPARs
  • Configured remote connectivity using the BMC Configuration Component for z/OS (LGC) component

Requirements

You must have a license for BMC Subsystem Optimizer for MQ.
