Checking queue manager health
You can use the W2OVERD view to see detailed information about the queue manager and its major components, including
- communication information
- queues operating at maximum depth
- logging information
- buffer pool information
For example, you are checking to see how the CSQ5 queue manager is doing.
The W2OVERD view is displayed, as shown below:

This view shows that the TCP/IP Listener-Local is in retry mode. The channels cannot work so they are also in retry mode. Any attempt to send messages over channels will fail and messages will be put onto the dead-letter queue.
You can fix this by starting the listener. For now, check to see which dead-letter queue this queue manager is using.
Access the QMMVSD view for the CSQ5 queue manager. The Dead Letter field shows the dead-letter queue that this queue manager is using.
