Starting the command server


For full functionality, MainView for MQ requires that you run a command server on each managed queue manager.

To start the command server on an MVS queue manager

  1. On an MVS console, type the following command to a queue manager to see if the command server is running:qmgrcpf DISPLAY CMDSERV

    The variable qmgrcpf is the command prefix that is defined in MVS forMQ.

  2. To start the command server, type the following command on an MVS console:qmgrcpf START CMDSERV

To start the command server on a distributed queue manager

  1. On the COMMAND line, type the following command to a queue manager to see if the command server is running:DSPMQCSV queueManagerName
  2. To start the command server, type the following command on the COMMAND line:STRMQCSV queueManagerName

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
