From the MVLNX easy menu, hyperlink on the System option to view the System Easy Menu (EZLSYSR). From the System Easy Menu , you can access views regarding key performance areas of your system.

Processes

Hyperlink on the Process option from the MVLNX easy menu to access the Processes Easy Menu (EZLPRCSR). The Processes Easy Menu provides access to views that contain data regarding process activity.

The Processes Easy Menu is divided into activity information and general information. Activity options lead you to information about specific process activity, including resource usage. General options provide more general information about a process, including parent/child relationships of processes and parameters.

Filesystems

The Filesystems Easy Menu, EZLFSYSR, contains hyperlinks to detailed information about mounted file systems.

EZLFSYSR allows you to access information regarding mounted file systems. Data about all file systems includes mount information and directory listings.

Users

The User Activity Easy Menu, EZLUSRSR, contains hyperlinks to detailed information regarding individual users, groups, and users that are logged in to a monitored Linux system.

Configuration

Linux provides a sysctl function that allows you to dynamically modify some system parameters. You can hyperlink from the submenus listed under the System Parameters heading on the EZLCONFR Easy Menu to display a dialog where you can enter new parameter values.

Press PF3/END to submit the sysctl command to the specified Linux image.

For example, in Configuration Easy Menu , if you hyperlink on the General Kernel view:

You can enter new values and press PF3/END to submit the new values.

You can view a list of the sysctl actions on the Linux Management Actions EZMENU submenus EZLSYSC and EZLSYSCN.

Hyperlink to other views from the MVALARM Easy Menu to display alarms or to edit or view alarm definitions.

When you add or edit an alarm definition, you can customize alarm messages, threshold levels, monitoring frequency, and the action that is taken when an alarm occurs.

Navigating to the Linux Image Easy Menu

The SYLOVRZR view provides easy access to information about all of the Linux system images that are being monitored and allows you select a specific Linux image. Once you select a Linux image, you can display the Image Easy Menu for the image.

Note

The image refers to the Linux system for which the data is being displayed. This value is derived automatically from the first 60 characters of the monitored host name.

  1. To access the Image Easy Menu for a Linux image from the MVLNX or MVLNXV Easy Menu, hyperlink from Linux Image Status to display the SYLOVRZR view.
    The SYLOVRZR view contains a list of available Linux images.
