How MainView for Java Environments uses Next Generation Logger (NGL)

The BMC Next Generation Logger (NGL) technology allocates, initializes, and manages log files. NGL minimizes the cost of logging and the potential for resource contention.

MainView for Java Environments uses NGL to log the following data types:

  • Java virtual machine (JVM) CPU history
  • Garbage collection and memory usage data from JZOS SMF 121-1 and IMS SMF 29-2 records

NGL structures are automatically defined when the MainView for Java Environments PAS starts.
