Data set allocation


MainView for IP dynamically allocates Packet Trace data sets if the data sets are not pre-allocated. The product uses the defined name pattern for allocating the Packet Trace data sets. For more information, see Patterns-for-allocating-Trace-files.

If you pre-allocate Trace data sets, use the following table for the data set attributes.

The SNIFFER Packet Trace file record length can limit the size of the traced packet.

  • Record Length: 27998
  • Block Size: 32760
