Enabling TN3270 response time data collection

Use the following procedure to enable TN3270 response time data collection.

Note

For more information, see the IBM z/OS Communications Server: IP Configuration Reference.

To enable TN3270 response time data collection

  1. In the BEGINVTAM section of the Telnet Server Profile data sets, add MONITORGROUP statements to define the data collection options.Options for the MONITORGROUP statement include the inclusion and exclusion of averages, counts by time bucket, and whether the IP network should be included in measurements.
  2. In the same section, add MONITORMAP statements, to map the connection identifiers to the data collection options that the MONITORGROUP statements defined. When a MONITORGROUP is mapped to Client Identifiers with the MONITORMAP statement, the requested data is collected for those connections.
  3. In the SEZALOAD Dataset field, change the default from TCPIP.SEZALOAD if your SEZALOAD uses a different name.

    Tip

You can change the SEZALOAD value on the MVIPCNFD view:

    1. Under the Utilities option, select Product Administration.
    2. Under Parameter Management, select MVIP Config Settings.
    3. Select your system name.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
