Defining Socket Trace options

You can use the Socket Trace options to define how much trace data is saved and whether it is overwritten during a trace. The Socket Tracing views provide detailed information about a socket call, including all socket parameters and return codes.

To define Socket Trace table options

  1. From the EZIP menu, select Product Administration (EZADMIN) in the Utilities section, and press Enter.
  2. From the EZADMIN menu, select MVIP Configuration Settings (MVIPCNFD), and press Enter.
  3. In the Skttrace Wrap field, type YES or NO to enable or prevent wrapping of the socket trace data when the end of table is reached.
  4. On the MVIPCNFD view, add the Trace Name Pattern and Trace Volume Serial fields. For more information on allocating names for trace files, see Patterns-for-allocating-Trace-files.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
