Data collection settings


This topic describes the data collection settings that are available in MainView for IP.

 

Setting

Description

Availability ping

Determines whether the availability ping (APNG) runs at startup. You can use APNG to ping an IP network device automatically to determine its availability and provide device response times.

Note

To use IP pacing when pacing is enabled, you must add IP pacing entries (job names) on the IPPACCFG view.

IP pacing

Determines whether to use IP pacing to delay (or 'pace') outbound data from any TCP/IP applicationi. You can use IP pacing to provide more processing time to business critical applications.

Domain name resolution

Determines whether the domain name resolution (DNR) function is available. The DNR function resolves an IP address to a domain name, and provides the IP address of a domain name. Domain name resolution is enabled by default.

OSA data collection

Determines whether OSA data is collected. OSA is enabled by default.

SNMP data collection

Determines whether SNMP data is collected (SNMP is enabled by default)

SNMP interval definition

Defines the interval, in minutes, during which the subtask that collects SNMP data runs

TN3270 response time collection

Determines whether TN3270 network and host response times are collected

VIPAPORT byte counts

Determines whether interval byte counts should be calculated for the connections distributed on the Dynamic VIPA

(PTF BPN2414 applied) zERT data collection

Determines whether the collection parameter for encryption data is DETAIL, SUMMARY, or OFF. The default is SUMMARY.
