Trace Summary Detail view (ITALSUMD)

The Trace Summary Detail view (ITALSUMD) shows statistics for specific transactions. In addition to its display of trace details and other features, use the hyperlink on the Query field to access the Trace Query dialog.

The ITALSUMD view provides statistics that show:

  • An overview of the trace, or any 15 minute time interval that you select
  • Transaction type and source breakdown
  • Application percentage of total elapsed time
  • DL/I and ESS call metrics

You can access the Trace Summary Detail view (ITALSUMD) from the Trace Detail view (ITALISTD) by using the hyperlink available on the Overview/Query field.

The following table lists the some of the statistics fields and describes the data they display:

Field

Description

Application Percent

Average percentage of elapsed time attributed to the application.

Longest DC call

Longest elapsed time for any DL/I DC call

Call Time Per Tran

Average total DL/I DB or ESS call time

Time Per Call

Average time per DL/I DB or ESS call

Longest Call

Longest elapsed time for any DL/I DB call

Bad Stat Codes

Average number of DL/I DB or DC calls with a non-blank status code that was not excluded from this count by the DFDBCODE or DFDCCODE parameters.

Longest ESS Call

Longest elapsed time for any ESS call.

Bad Ret Codes

Average number of ESS calls with a non-zero return code that was not excluded from this count by the DFESCODE parameter.

Avg DC Calls >= Thrsh

Average number of DC calls that met or exceeded the time threshold specified by the DFTIME parameter.

Avg DB/ESS Calls >= Thrsh

Average number of DB or ESS calls that met or exceeded the time threshold specified by the DFTIME parameter.

Longest non I/O wait

Longest non-I/O wait time

Note

For example, a data base lock wait.
