Managing trace logs data sets (TLDS)

You can use the Trace Utilities to manage trace log data sets. Use the following procedure to complete the following tasks:

  • Create TLDS from an IMS Log
  • Unload TLDS and Archive
  • Restore an archived copy of TLDS
  • Print a TLDS
  • Create and initialize a Trace Directory
  • Verify or cleanup the Trace Directory
  1. From the MVIMS JCL Generator Menu, select TRACE.

  2. The MVIMS Trace Utilities Menu displays as shown:

      5  Create TRACEDIR   - Define and Initialize Trace Directory (JXT001)        
      6  Cleanup TRACEDIR  - Verify/Cleanup Trace Directory (JXT003)               
                                                                                  
     Press PF1 to view Help.                                                       
     Press PF3 to Return to previous menu.                                         
  3. Type an option number on the Select Option line and press Enter.A panel is displayed on which to enter information in the fields that the utility uses to process your objective.
  4. Provide the requested information.For more information about the information of the fields, see the online Help or the applicable section in this publication.
  5. When finished, press Enter to either generate the JCL or to process the utility.
