IMS Log Status view (ILOGST)

You can use the IMS Log Status view to monitor IBM IMS logs.

ILOGST also displays the number of IMS log switches. You can monitor this value to determine whether the IMS log switched too often. If necessary, you can set an alarm for the log switches by using the LOGSW Monitor to alert you when the log switch exceeds a specified number of times. For more information, see IMS Internals Monitors.

Warning

Note

If the log switches too often, the batch archive job might not process fast enough to keep pace with processing. When the alarm is triggered, you can allocate more OLDS to ensure that IMS can continue logging.
