Application trace facility

This section describes the MainView for CICS application trace facility and includes the following topics:

With this facility you can

  • start a trace through online dialogs on which options can be specified and defaults are displayed
  • start a trace from a MainView AutoOPERATOR EXEC (see Start-detail-traces-with-automation)
  • start a series of trace requests automatically when the system starts
  • start an in-flight trace from task-related views (see Start-detail-trace-for-active-transactions)
  • log a trace to one or more VSAM data sets for later online recall or batch printing
  • print a trace display
