TRACE—Enable diagnostic tracing

TRACE command can cause significant CPU overhead. You should use TRACE only when you are instructed to do so by BMC Customer Support.

The format of the TRACE command is as follows:

F MVMTA,TRACE {ON | OFF} { n | ALL}

Use this command to enable and disable the MainView Transaction Analyzer diagnostic tracing capabilities. The table describes the options for the TRACE command:

ON

Enables the specified tracing

OFF

Disables the specified tracing

n

Identifies the level of tracing to be enabled or disabled:

  • 1–Module entry, exit, data management, and remote requests tracing
  • 2–Data manager requests
  • 3–Data Store request tracing
  • 4–Data Store AMGV tracing
  • 5–Data manager WebSphere MQ requests
  • 7–Data manager insert/UOW tracing
  • 8–Product API tracing

ALL

Enables or disables all levels of tracing
