Customization tasks

You must customize the online environment for MainView Transaction Analyzer before you begin using the product. From within the Installation System, you must use the following customization methods, in sequence, to customize MainView Transaction Analyzer:

1. OZI Customization to set up the following common components for use by MainView Transaction Analyzer:

   • Db2 Component Services (DBC) subsystem
   • Next Generation Logger (NGL)

   You must run the OZI Customization process first because it supplies required information to the BMC AMI Ops Customization process.

2. BMC AMI Ops Customization to set up the MainView Transaction Analyzer environment, as follows:

   • You must use the SMP/E Target Zone Customization option.
   • You can use either the BMC AMI Ops Customization process or the AutoCustomization process.

   Note

   • For information about using the Installation System and BMC AMI Ops Infrastructure Customization, see theBMC AMI Ops Infrastructure. For information about managing the DBC subsystem, see theAdministering.
   • The remainder of this section describes how to use the AutoCustomization process to perform the customization tasks for MainView Transaction Analyzer. The BMC AMI Ops Customization process requests some of the same information in a more streamlined way.

   Product Customization Steps panel shows some of the steps in the AutoCustomization process for MainView Transaction Analyzer. This process includes general steps for customizing BMC AMI Ops Infrastructure and specific steps for customizing the product.
