VSAM Failures detail section used with StopX37/II


This section of the report includes:

  • Job name
  • DSN of the failing VSAM component
  • Date and time of failure
  • Requested space in tracks that was unavailable at the time of extend

The requested tracks unavailable at time of extend is retrieved from the SMF64NTR field in a SMF type 64 record and has a maximum value of 65,535 tracks.

Tip

You can supply the VSAM=NO parameter to eliminate the VSAM failures section from the SMFX37A report. See SMFX37A-parameters-used-with-StopX37-II.
