Note that view collections must be setup before using the Dashboard Wizard to create custom dashboards.
Click the Collections tab in the Monitor Console.
In the left pane, click on the top level node (View Control Collections) or on an object type and click the Create New Collection icon from the Collections toolbar. OR Right-click the top level node or an object type and select Create New Collection.
If you clicked on the top level node, an object type selection dialog box is displayed. Select the relevant type (you can use the filter option at the top to enter filter criteria to make it easier to find the type you want), enter a Collection Name, and click OK. OR If you clicked on an object type, a Collection name box is displayed. Enter the name for the collection and click OK.
The newly named collection is added to the left pane, under Collections, and automatically opens (as a new tab) in the Collection editor when it is created.
To open a collection that is not currently open, expand the object type, and the Collection tree node to the new collection you created, and click on it in the tree to display the empty view workspace.
Select the view controls and place them on the view workspace based on what you want to do for this object type.
In the left pane, expand the Attributes node.
Drag and drop attributes to the view controls to associate the attributes. In addition, make any required changes to the properties of the view controls. See also Adding an item to a view for further details on how to correctly drag and drop attributes.
Click the Save Collection icon to save the view collection.
Note
Child Object Summary Tables, History Reports, and History Charts are not valid members of a view collection and therefore do not appear on the view control toolbar on the Collections tab. These types of view controls can still be added to a dashboard view, but not as part of a view collection.
