Accessing and downloading all feature requirements

The following steps describe the procedure you must follow to access and download all necessary components:

  1. To access the Monitor Console, click Download Installer to install the standalone version of the Monitor Console, or click Launch to launch the legacy Java Web Start version of the Monitor Console. For further information about which version you should use, see Accessing-the-Monitor-Console.

The Monitor Console application displays a prompt to run the application. Accepting the prompt launches the Monitor Console login page.

For further information and troubleshooting, see Accessing-the-Monitor-Console.

  2. To access MainView Middleware Administrator (MVMA), click Administrator Console. You can use the Administrator Console to manage queue managers, queues, and channels.

The MVMA window is launched in a new browser window or tab.

    Important

The MVMA User and Admin Consoles are web-based in contrast to the Monitor Console.

For further information on the functionality available in MVMA, see Working-with-queue-managers-queues-and-channels.

  3. Click Deployments to download MVMM  agents and distribute them to relevant computers.

For more information about creating, modifying, downloading, and deploying agents and extensions, see Using-Deployments-to-distribute-the-agent-and-extensions-packages.

  4. Click on Events to monitor and search events. For more information, see Using-Events.

Introducing the various interfaces to MVMM

Three main interfaces are used inMVMM : the Monitor Console, MainView Middleware Administrator (MVMA)  and a set of CLI tools.

For more information, see Accessing-and-navigating-the-MainView-Middleware-Monitor-interfaces.

Establishing monitoring policy

MVMM  provides a set of out-of-the-box policies that contain general monitoring recommendations. For more information, see Getting-started-with-policies.
If you need further information on how to tweak and customize these policies, see Policies-and-Event-Packs-overview and Policy-architecture.
