Creating or modifying a user
- Click Add User on the Security tab and toolbar to open the User Settings dialog box.
Enter the required information.
- You can add one or more groups to this user or you can save the user without adding a group list. The user has no access permissions until the user is part of a group.
When you add a group to the user list, the group's permissions are applied to the user. You cannot change group permissions in the User Settings dialog box. To modify a user's permissions, you need to change the permissions in the user's groups. Changes to the group's permissions are applied to all user members.
Disallowed characters in user and group names
User and group names allow only characters in the UTF-8 character set, with a few exceptions.
Disallowed characters in user and group names include: ! # % & ( ) * + , / : ; < = > ? @ [ ] ^ ` { | } ~ " ä ü ö e´ e`.
In addition, leading spaces and trailing spaces are disallowed, while internal spaces are allowed.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
