Suppressing events
To suppress an event
- Open the Events tab and enter edit mode.
- In the Explorer pane, right-click the object for which you want to suppress events and select Event Suppression.
- Select dates and times to start and end the event suppression.
- If necessary, select how often you would like the suppression to repeat from the repeat list.
- Click Add to add the event suppression rule to the list.
- If necessary, repeat to add more event suppression rules.
- Click OK to save the changes.
To configure how objects with event suppression rules defined are displayed
Any object that has an event suppression rule defined has visual cues indicating that a suppression rule is defined. The visual cues remain unless the suppression rule is removed.
You might want objects with event suppression rules to display differently than those without such rules defined. Use the Preferences window to make those changes.
- Access Tools > Preferences and open the Event Suppression tab.
- Make the necessary changes to the color, font, or tool tip. You can also disable the icon so all objects with event suppression rules defined appear like all other objects. Note that these changes do not appear until you commit your event workspace and re-expand your tree in the Default explorer tree panel.
- At least one option must be selected. If you clear all options, then there is no difference in appearance between nodes with event suppression rules and those without them.
- The Preview section shows you what the object looks like with the chosen preferences. If you hover over the object in the Preview pane, a tool tip also appears.
- Disabling the icon grays out the node.
