Installing the MVMM Agent Fix Pack
Before you begin
- Make sure that the latest GA or Server Fix Pack is installed.
- Make sure that you have preserved the eaa.xml file and created a valid recent backup so that you can retain your current configuration in case any issues occur during the Fix Pack installation.
- Review the Fix Pack's notes and instructions. You can extract the README.txt file from the downloaded Fix Pack zip file by running the following command:
- Windows
unzip -o FixPackixPack9000.vvv_Agent.zip FixPack9000.vvv_Agent\README.txt - Unix
unzip -o FixPack9000.vvv.zip FixPack9000.vvv_Agent/README.txt
- Windows
To install the MVMM Agent Fix Pack
(Recommended) Create a directory named FixPacks under your server installation directory (if it does not already exist).
- Download the Fix Pack file (FixPack9000.vvv_Agent.zip) to the FixPacks directory.
Unzip the archive.
You should now have a directory named FixPack9000.vvv_Agent in the FixPacks directory.
Run the Fix Pack installation script. It doesn't matter which directory you are in when you run the script. The default action is to install the Fix Pack. To see the help, run the script with the --help option.
If you choose to unpack the FixPack9000.vvv_Agent.zip file in a different location, then you must specify the product location when running the installation script.
- Check the output of the script and its log file, correct any issues, and repeat step 5. If you encounter any issues that you cannot resolve, contact BMC Support.
- (Optional) Run the Security Configuration tool. For more information, see Configuring-the-Active-Directory-security-mode-with-the-Security-Configuration-tool.
- Redistribute the agent and extension packages to the agent machines that you wish to update. For more information, see MVMM-Extensible-Agent-and-extension-files-to-distribute.
- Update the bootstrap package. For more details, see Updating-the-Default-Layout-installation-by-applying-a-bootstrap-package.
