Testing and checking the status of the MQ and WMQ Connection configuration

After configuring the server connection channel WMQ Connection, use the procedures in this topic to test the connection and to check the status of the configuration.

To test a WMQ Connection

From the Object Repository tab of the Management Console, navigate to the relevant queue manager, right-click and select Test TSMA WMQ Connection. This option instructs the TSMA product to use its WMQ Connection settings to determine whether it can connect to the queue manager. A message is then displayed, and if the connection failed, the message includes an MQ error code and description.

The mqtool utility can also be used with the –test-connections option to verify that TSMA can connect to the queue manager. See Managing integration with MVMA with the CLI for details.

To check the status of the MQ and WMQ Connection configuration

From the Object Repository tab of the Management Console, navigate to the relevant queue manager, right-click and select Check TSMA WMQ Connection Status. This option enables you to collect information for troubleshooting connection issues. It displays agent status, queue manager status, server connection channels, listener information, queue manager and channel authentication details, and the result of the last mqsc executed when defining the server connection channel.

You can also use the –check-status option with mqtool utility. See Managing integration with MVMA with the CLI for details.
