Deploying the development toolkit for BTM API for Java EE

The development toolkit must be installed when using the BTM API to instrument your application. The development toolkit contains the appropriate files for your operating system and language.

Re-install the development toolkit after any TrueSight Middleware and Transaction Monitor upgrade.

To deploy the development toolkit .jar file

  1. Enter edit mode and click the Deploy Toolkit button on the BTM toolbar to open the Deploy Toolkit dialog box.
  2. Check Development Toolkit.
  3. Select the row that contains your operating system, extension type, and language.
  4. Select your directory and click Deploy. This saves a .jar file to your staging directory. The file is named:

    operating_system
    {_}Instrumented_Application_BTM_API_for_Java EE_Development_Toolkit.jar

Inside each .jar file are files that must be moved.
  5. Repeat for each technology to be used.

To extract the library files

  1. Extract the file btmjeeapi.jar from OperatingSystem{_}Instrumented_Application_BTM_API_for_Java EE_Development_Toolkit.jar to any directory.
  2. Add the file btmjeeapi.jar to your Java EE applications classpath before deploying the applications to your application server.
