Managing archives

Archives are a backup copy of your queue manager environment, consisting of definitions of the queue manager and its associated objects. These copies are created automatically and periodically when changes have been made to this environment. In automated intervals, it is determined whether storing a new archive file is necessary (based on the presence of changes to object definitions). If changes took place since the last archive file was written, a new copy is stored.

The Archive interval settings are set by the Product Administrator.

Archives in MainView Middleware Administrator are XML files that contain definitions for all objects on the queue manager.

Select Archives from the Navigation Panel to display its Summary View:

To download the archive data in MQSC or XML format, select the relevant option from the drop-down menu in the far left column.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
