The LDAP_LDAP model


With this model, all security functionality (authentication and authorization) is implemented using a LDAP or Active Directory server. There is a corresponding reduction in Product Administrator authorization functionality: users/groups administration is removed from your task set. (You retain responsibility for associating users and groups with projects, and assigning permissions.)

Different customers with enterprises of different sizes may apply this model to their MainView Middleware Administrator installation.

Note that as with any security model in which either authentication or authorization is dealt with externally, application performance relies on the efficiency of the LDAP server(s). See also Implementing-the-LDAP_LDAP-model.
