To upload/import messages

  1. In the Messages for Queue Summary View, select Upload/Import from the queue's Operations drop-down menu.
  2. Click Browse.
  3. In the File Upload dialog box, navigate to the file that contains a saved message and click Open.
  4. Select parameters as required for the message, including the file type. From the Upload Type option box, select from MVMA Message File, Single Message File, or Delimited Message(s) File. The MVMA Message File addresses a file created from a previous message export through MVMA. This file type encodes complete message information, i.e. includes message headers together with the message payload. For this file type you can select to:

    • Preserve All Context to import the message(s) with the message context as encoded in the selected file or to strip off the message context and create the message with a new default context.
    • Preserve Message Id or Preserve Correlation Id to create the message(s) with the message and correlation id as encoded in the selected file or to assign identifiers created by the MQ environment on import.
    • Remove Xmit Q Header or Remove Dead Letter Header to remove these headers when encoded in the selected file. Disable these options to preserve related headers as encoded in the selected file.

Select Single Message File or Delimited Message(s) File to address a file containing only message payload data but not any other message information such as headers or message properties. The Delimited Message(s) File option uploads a single message for each delimited portion of the file, based on the delimiter specified by the user in the Message Delimiter field. This field is enabled when Delimited Message(s) File is selected, and includes the newline option, which will parse a single message from every line in the file. Available fields for setting message header properties are made available for these file types grouped by categories that can be collapsed or expanded as needed. Select ‘Set Context’ to enable message properties related to the message Context as e.g. for setting the Put Date/Time or properties from the Context category. By default, Set Context is disabled, and any message is created with the default context. To set properties for the RFH/2 header select RFH1 or RFH2 as the Message Format to enable the fields in the Rules and Formatting Header category.

  5. Click Import to import and save the message(s) to the queue.

A confirmation message is displayed in the status pane. The status pane message tells you how many messages were successfully uploaded. Single Message File always reports one message. The other two upload types will vary depending upon the amount of messages in the file.
