Starting a MainView Explorer session

MainView Explorer sessions run in one of the following ways:

  • (PTF BQY1939 applied) A stand-alone package, located on your desktop or on a shared network drive
  • A Java application run outside your browser, launched each time by Java Web Start 

In each case, if the application detects a newer version of MainView Explorer on the host server, it updates automatically. After you launch an MainView Explorer session, you need to log on and set a context from which to access the product views.
