Creating an alarm by using the MAKEALARM wizard


This section shows you how to create an alarm definition using the MAKEALARM wizard.

  1. From a MainView product that is running in windows mode, display a view that has thresholds set for one or more fields.
  2. From the selected view, type MAKEALarm on the COMMAND line, but do not press Enter.
  3. Place the cursor on any field with a defined threshold, and press Enter.MainView Alarm Management opens the first dialog of the MAKEALARM wizard.
  4. Complete the MAKEALARM wizard.
    1. Fill out the Consider These Records dialog (see Filling-out-the-Consider-These-Records-dialog).
    2. Fill out the Use These Conditions dialog (see Filling-out-the-Use-These-Conditions-dialog).
    3. Fill out the Report Alarms dialog (see Filling-out-the-Report-Alarms-dialog).
    4. Fill out the Alarm Definition Make dialog (see Filling-out-the-Alarm-Definition-Make-dialog).
