Console Consolidation Servers


The main Console Consolidation page allows you to view, modify or delete existing console servers and add new ones.

New Server

Use the button to start the process of creating a new CCS server configuration.

Start

Starts any checked CCS servers that are not already running.

Stop

Stops any checked CCS servers that are running.

Edit

Pops up an Edit Servers page that allows you to modify settings for any checked CCS servers in one operation. In the edit window, indicate which options you wish to change by checking an option box and then modifying the current setting. Then click the Save button at the bottom to save your changes and dismiss the editor.

Delete

Deletes any checked CCS servers.

Group

Takes you to the Groups page allowing you to organize how CCS servers and consoles are listed on the CCS Consoles page. The following table describes the other functions you can use.

 

Button

Back

Use this button to return to the main server list page.

New Group

Use the button to create a new group.

Copy

Use this button to edit existing groups or create a new group using the button to copy settings from an existing group.

 

Consoles

Takes you to the All Consoles page allowing you to indicate which consoles should appear on the CCS Consoles page for use by operators. The All Consoles page also contains the following controls for operations:

  • Starting
  • Stopping
  • Editing
  • Deleting

You can use these controls on one or more consoles.

Session Report

Goes to a Session Report page containing a table summarizing all defined consoles with connection information along with an Export CSV button allowing you to export the provided information in a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file for download to your computer.

Server Table

The lists define CCS servers in alphabetical order by name, along with their current operational status.

Selection box

The checkbox to the left of a server name selects it for use with the top row Start, Stop, Edit, and Delete buttons.

Server Name

The name given to the server when it was defined.

Status

The Started status indicates the server is running. The Stopped status indicates that it is not running.

Startup

Indicates the startup mode - Automatic, Manual, or Disabled - set in the server configuration. Automatic mode is used to automatically start the server whenever the MVCM unit is powered on. Manual mode is used if the server is only to start when the server Start button on this page is clicked. Disabled mode is like Manual except that the server Start button is disabled to prevent accidentally starting the server.

Start

This button will be enabled if the server is both stopped and not disabled; clicking on it will start the server, disable the Start button, and enable the Stop button.

Stop

This button will be enabled if the server is running; clicking on it will stop the server, disable the Stop button, and enable the Start button.

Edit

Opens the server configuration editor for you to view and make changes to the server and the console sessions controlled by the server.

Copy

This button allows you to create a new server instance with the settings copied from the selected server. You give the new server a name and the Configuration Editor page appears.

Note

The new server is intended to run at the same time as the original server. You must change those settings, the Client Access port numbers in particular, that conflict with the original server.

Delete

Deletes the server configuration. You will be prompted to confirm your request before the server is actually deleted.

Logs

Pops up a new Logs window which allows you to manage—view, delete, or download—the log files available for this server.

Note

Logging must be enabled in the server Logging configuration tab for any log files to be listed.

Status Detail

Indicates the last operation performed for the servers. It shows the time and date of the action and who performed it.
