Edit Group
The New/Edit Group page allows you to create a new group or edit an existing group and specify all of the access criteria and group members. This page has Group Info, Select Users and Assign Resources tabs for configuring basic group information, user membership and resource access respectively.
Group Name
The group name used to identify the group.
Description
A longer description may be entered in this field for additional information.
CCS Admin Privileges
CCS Admin Privileges, when checked, grants the group CCS Administrator access. This allows group members to use the CCS Monitor and the SmartClient Administration application or applet.
HMC Access Privileges
HMC Access Privileges, when checked, grants group members HMC access through either the HMC Proxy or Automation server HMC sessions.
Select Users
This topic describes how to select users.
User Table
A list of currently defined users with their Login IDs and User Names and a Select check box allowing you to indicate whether the user is a member of the group or not.
Assign Resources
This topic describes how to assign resources.
All Resources / Selected Resources
Pick one to indicate whether this group should have access to everything or only to specific resources. When Selected Resources is chosen a table will appear listing all of the currently configured resources.
Resource Table
A list of known resources along with their type and access information. Resources which have the Access By All Users attribute enabled will have a Yes in that column and the Access Level will be fixed at Full Access. Resources which have configurable user access will have a pull-down menu in the Access Level column with up to three choices available:
- No access - user is denied any access to this resource.
- Read only access - user may view messages but may not enter any commands.
- Full access - user may view messages and enter commands.
Choices selected here may affect the options available for resources in the Edit User window for users who are members of the group you are editing: MVCM allows you to increase but not decrease a users access relative to that provided by his group membership. For example, if a resource is set as Full Access at the group level then member users will be fixed at Full Access.
Save
Use the Save button to save the new or modified group information.
Cancel
Cancel the Add Group or Edit Group action.
