Viewer Launch

Select the type of Java client launched from the CCS Consoles and Automation Viewers pages. The choices are:

  • Applet — the only type available in MVCM release 2.12 and earlier. Applets run within the web browser using a Java plug-in.
  • Application — new with MVCM 3.1, applications run outside of the web browser. Desktop shortcuts may optionally be created to launch applications without needing to use a web browser at all.
  • Internet Explorer — to create a desktop shortcut you must right-click on the application link in the browser and select 'Save target as...' from the menu to save a .jnlp shortcut file.
  • Firefox — when you click on the application link in Firefox the 'Opening...' dialog that comes up will offer you a choice between 'Open with Java Web Start Launcher' to run the application or 'Save File' which allows you to create a .jnlp shortcut file.

Once the jnpl files are created, double-clicked to launch the target console or viewer application as if it were installed on the PC.

Edit Security Login Message

The Edit Security Login Message button invokes a dialog where a Security Login Message can be entered. This message is displayed before a user logs in to the MVCM Administration web pages, a CCS Console session, or an MVCA viewer session. The text may be plain text, or any valid HTML text. If there is no text specified, the security message dialog is not displayed to the user before a login is required. Once the dialog is displayed, enter the desired text and click OK to save the text, or Cancel to discard the text and close the dialog.

Edit Welcome Page Header and Edit Welcome Page Footer

The Welcome Page Header and Footer dialogs allow for text entered that is displayed on the main MVCM web page. This text can incorporate security message, or other helpful text for users. Once the dialog is displayed, enter the desired text and click OK to save the text, or Cancel to discard the text and close the dialog.
