Viewer panes
Each pane (Explorer, Scrolling message pane, Input pane, Priorty Message Pane, Dashboards, Alerts, etc.) may or may not be included in the viewer definition, so they may not always be present. The button to the left of the text field displays the current session, which is the session to which commands are sent. When the button is clicked a menu with all the sessions appears and the operator may select a different session. When another session is selected, the text of the button changes. The button in the top left launches the session viewer. When the current session changes, its text changes as well.
- Explorer-pane The Explorer pane located on the left contains a tree layout of the CPCs. You can expand and contract the tree using the + and - icons. You can have more than one explorer pane depending on your configuration. The panes will be tabbed so that you can switch between them. You can apply Actions using the explorer pane by right-clicking on the item and selecting the defined action.
- Scrolling-message-pane The Scrolling message pane is located in the center of the viewer. It displays all of the messages that are being received by the viewer. You can use the Freeze check box located at the bottom of the screen to freeze the scrolling. The border of the screen changes to red, indicating that the freeze option is in effect.
- Input-pane The Input pane located at the bottom of the viewer allows you to enter commands to specific consoles. The black area is a text field where you can enter commands. The IOC2 button brings up a popup window allowing you to change sessions. If the selected session does not support a viewer, the button is disabled.

A pop-up window shows all available operators who can conduct the review. After selecting who you want to review the commands. You click Select and the server forwards the request to your peers. Command input filters will be able to distinguish between commands that have gone through a peer review and ones that you have submitted directly.
- Priority-message-pane The Priority message pane displays only messages that require operator attention. They are put there by the markMessagePemanent RDL2 rule or the Mark Message and Monitor action in the form-based rules.
- Alerts-pane The Alerts pane is located in the lower left corner of the primary viewer window similar to an incoming email and displays a balloon window with the arriving message. When an alert has expired, you can delete it using the icon located in the pane.
- Dashboards Dashboards contain status indicators for items in the collection of sessions that they represent. The dashboards display statuses of the objects within the specified dashboard. Dashboard items may contain actions that you access by right-clicking on the item and selecting them from the pop-up menu.
- Connections The MVCA viewers are connected to one or more network connections. Network issues or maintenance can cause the network connection to be lost. The Connections window will appear from the View menu. If the connection is lost, the viewer will automatically try to reconnect to the network after 30 seconds. In the Connections window, you can click on the Connect button to force the viewer to attempt to connect to the network.
- Preferences The Preference window enables you to customize certain visual characteristics and behaviors of the viewers. These preferences are saved to your desktop.
