Quiescing the Extended Job Execution Subsystem

The QUIESCE command drains all Extended Job Execution Subsystem (XJS) initiators, prevents new initiators from starting, and shuts down the Extended Job Execution Subsystem.

Initiators that are currently active are drained when their current activity is completed.

To quiesce the Extended Job Execution Subsystem initiators on a particular MVS image

  1. Enter the following command:mbos BSL XJS QUIESCE

The MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem responds with messages to indicate that termination was initiated and completed.

  2. (optional ) Review the system log to ensure that the command is completed successfully.
