Data Optimizer commands
This topic describes the MainView Batch Optimizer and Data Optimizer commands necessary to control I/O optimization processing. I/O optimization requires processing from both the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem and Data Optimizer components.
Commands provide control to these components and enable you to display status information about them. You can enter any of these commands from the operator console or from any facility that emulates an operator console.
Because MainView Batch Optimizer operates as a subsystem, status changes that are made by commands that are entered from the operator console are active only until the next IPL. When the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem is first started after an IPL, the defaults that are indicated for each command take effect, and you need to reenter commands for which you do not want to use the defaults. To prevent the need to reenter any of the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem or Data Optimizer commands, place them in the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem commands member BCSCMDxx so that they will be issued each time the MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem is started.
