Editing or viewing BatchPlex global options

You can review or modify the global option values that are saved for a BatchPlex, including subsystem IDs and the option to start subsystems automatically during BatchPlex initialization.

To edit or view global options for a BatchPlex in the control data set

  1. Access the BatchPlex Definition panel.
  2. Choose Options > 6 (BatchPlex global options) on the action bar, and press Enter. You can use the BatchPlex Global Options pop-up panel to specify or change values that serve as defaults for the MVS image definition fields for each image in the BatchPlex. These values include the started task names and subsystem IDs for the following subsystems:

    • MainView Batch Optimizer Subsystem (MBOS)
    • BMC Software Primary Subsystem (BMCP)
    • Extended Job Execution Subsystem (MBOX)

The BatchPlex Global Options pop-up also includes an option to start subsystems automatically during BatchPlex initialization, a startup commands member name, and the number of initiators to be used on an image to split batch job steps.

The following figure shows an example of the BatchPlex Global Options pop-up panel, where the BatchPlex global options are defined. These sample global options were defined during the customization process. If you do not define any MVS images for a BatchPlex, or if you leave the field blank on an MVS Image Definition panel, MainView Batch Optimizer uses the values that you specified on the BatchPlex Global Options pop-up.

    Note

The BatchPlex Global Options pop-up panel is scrollable and might include a More: field.
