What you need to know to migrate from an earlier version of MainView Total Object Manager (TOM)

MainView Total Object Manager version 8.2 is installed when you install MainView AutoOPERATOR version 8.2. To migrate to MainView AutoOPERATOR version 8.2 from any earlier versions, you must perform a new installation of MainView AutoOPERATOR.

Running TOM versions 8.1 and 8.2 in the same TOMPLEX

If you are going to run version 8.1 and 8.2 of TOM in the same TOMPLEX, you must apply PTF BQO2711 to TOM version 8.1. This PTF prevents the following actions if there was an ATTACH command performed on a later release of TOM that targets a Definition Base different from the one where the layer items are stored: 

  • DETACH of a sysplex-layer from a sysplex
  • DETACH of a system-layer from a system

Version 8.1 of TOM cannot correctly delete objects that are generated by an ATTACH.
