Accessing the Automation Logger application views


Use the following procedure to access the Automation Logger application views.

To access the Automation Logger application views

  1. From the MainView AutoOPERATOR primary option menu (Figure 1), select P -- PERFORMANCE.

    The EZAO menu is displayed (Figure 2).

    The names of the views for the Automation Logger application appear under the Automation Log heading.

  2. To display a view, place the cursor on the name of a view and press Enter.Figure 3 shows the EALO GEA view, which is displayed from the Only Events w/Actions hyperlink.

    This view, by default, displays the date and time that the event was seen by Rules Processor, the originating BBI-SS PAS for the event, the message ID associated with the event, the message ID of the event message, the event type name, and message text associated with the event.

    To see additional information, scroll the display with the F11/RIGHT key.

    For more information about any field in the EALOGEA view, place the cursor in the heading of the field and press the Help ( F1) key.

    Table 1 describes the hyperlinks you can use from the EALOGEA view. To activate a hyperlink, place the cursor on any resource in any hyperlink field and press Enter.

    Origin

    filters the display by using the Origin value and shows all of the activity for the selected origin

    Activity Msg ID

    filters the display by using the Activity Msg ID value, and shows all of the activity that has the selected Activity Msg ID

    Event Msg ID

    filters the display by using the Event Msg ID value and shows all of the activity that has the selected Event Msg ID

    Event Type

    filters the display by using the Event Type value and shows all of the activity for the selected Event Type

    Event Message

    displays a view that shows all of the activity that matches the selected record’s Event Token

    This link results in a view of one or more actions taken by one or more Rules on this event.

    Field One Data

    filters the display by using the Field One Data value and shows all of the activity that has the selected Field One Data

    Field Two Data

    filters the display by using the Field Two Data value and shows all of the activity that has the selected Field Two Data

    Event Token

    (same as Event Message and Action Token)

    filters the display by using the Event Msg ID value and shows all of the activity that has the selected Event Msg ID

    displays the same view as the Event Message hyperlink but limits the display to the actions taken by the single Rule associated with this Event and Action pair

    Action Token

    displays the same view as the Event Message hyperlink but limits the display to the actions taken by the single Rule associated with this Event and Action pair

    Record Number

    displays a pop-up view that contains all the detail of the record in a single view

  3. To see additional information about a specific event from this view, place the cursor in the row of one of the following columns and press Enter to display the Automation Log Message Detail view:

    • Event Date
    • Event Time
    • Record Number

To see detailed information about automation that has occurred in response to the event, place the cursor in the Event column and press Enter.Figure 5 is an example of EAEVENT view that shows that Rules were fired in response to the event and shows each of the actions that the Rule took, based on the Action Specification criteria that was defined when the Rule was created in the Rules Processor.

    Use the EAPROF dialog to define search criteria for displaying activity messages from the log file. For more information about how to fill in any field in the Automation Log Profile view, press the Help (F1) key.

    The EAPROF command is available on all Automation Logger application views.
