CICS

The IMFEXEC CICS command can be used to manage and control CICS resources, or, to simply query and determine the current status of resources.

The command consists of subcommands and many possible parameters that apply to many different kinds of resources in CICS. You can specify resources with generic (*) and positional (+) wildcard characters, except where noted. Note that when you use a generic in some resource names, a maximum of only 200 discrete commands are executed. See each command for which ones are affected by this limitation.

The condition codes below indicate success or failure of the scheduling of the service. The MainView AutoOPERATOR for CICS component that runs in the CICS address space issues additional messages to indicate success or failure. You should consider using AutoOPERATOR rules to process the responses (journal messages in the format FTxxx) from the commands.

The IMFEXEC CICS commands are supported only on CICS targets that are defined to the local MainView AutoOPERATOR BBI-SS PAS.

To invoke CICS commands that affect CICS targets that are connected to a remote AutoOPERATOR use the IMFEXEC SELECT EXEC command. This can be used to schedule an EXEC on the remote PAS and the CICS commands can be executed from the selected EXEC.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
