Buffering

BMC II for z/OS supports two types of buffering: memory buffer and persistent buffer.

The memory buffer is the main buffer. You can define its size and indicate whether you want to buffer a specific event.

The persistent buffer controls the copying of the memory buffer to the file system. It can have settings of none, low, or high.

Messages that are sent to a destination to which no connection has been established can be discarded (no buffering) or buffered until the destination becomes available. The different buffering modes offer varying degrees of protection for the message in the event of a shutdown or a crash.
