FORCE and NOFORCE keywords

Use the FORCE keyword to delete a data set entry immediately, even if the entry indicates that the data set contains compressed data. Use the NOFORCE keyword to delete the data set entry only after all compressed data is expanded the next time the data set is loaded. For the non-VSAM component only, use the FORCE keyword to add or change a data set or program entry when you have also specified the QSAMTRUNCATION or NOQSAMTRUNCATION keywords.

Warning

Note

The FORCE keyword is the batch equivalent of the SET SUPERMODE ON command.
