Using Database functions (option 4)

Database Functions enables you to further limit the candidate list without repeating option 1.

If your SMF data is stored on multiple tapes, this option prevents you from having to read all the tapes again as you identify additional job names to include in, or data set names to exclude from, the candidate list.

To use option 4 to limit the candidate list:

  1. In the Implementation Assist Primary Menu enter 4 (Database functions) in the option select space.The panel displays the Database Functions panel.
  2. Select one of the database functions.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
