Displaying Cost Analyzer log files


This topic describes how to display the log files that Cost Analyzer produces. BMC Customer Support might ask you to review these log files as part of problem diagnosis.

Warning

Note

Cost Analyzer does not automatically send Trace messages to the log file. If you want to view Trace messages, you need to enable the sending of Trace messages. For more information, see Enabling-Trace-messages-to-the-log-file.

 

To display log files

  1. From the Cost Analyzer console, click Administration Tools.
  2. Click Application Server Log Viewer.The Application Server Log Viewer displays as shown in the following figure.

  3. Click the log tabs for the log file that you want to display as described in the following table:

    Model Build Event Logs

    You can limit the type of messages that are displayed to All, Error, Warning, or Informational.

    Service Event Logs

    You can limit the type of messages that are displayed to All, Error, Warning, or Informational.

    RBA Audit Logs

    Temporal tracking about the Role-Based Access (RBA) Audit

    Audit Logs

    Temporal tracking information about all transactions associated with the product's web services

  4. (optional) Click the filter tabs to refine the list by message type.For more information, see Filtering-the-messages-displayed-in-a-log.

    Warning

    Note

    The filters are only available for MLC Contract Build Logs and Model Build Logs.

  5. (optional) Click the Reload contents button to reload contents from application server.Reloading the contents from the application server only reloads the content of the logs you are viewing in the active tab.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
