EZMZOS (formerly known as EZM390) is a menu that divides into categories the data gathered by the CMF Extractor. Options preceded by a . (period) display system data; options preceded by a > ( greater than sign) display either pop-up menus or other menu views from which you can access a broad variety of information. Those menu options preceded by an * (asterisk) are exclusive to MainView for z/OS. The menu options preceded by a / (slash) are exclusive to MainView for UNIX® System Services.

Options on this menu are grouped into two categories:

  • Activity options
Activity options display submenus that give you an overview of a particular aspect of your system's performance. From these overview submenus, you can selectively display information about a particular element by hyperlinking to a menu that is specific to the element.
  • Utilities options
Utilities options display submenus from which you can access a variety of information.

In addition, this menu, as well as a number of other menu views, offer you different ways (time frames) to display menu options.

  • Interval data—cumulative information since the completion of the last full interval
By default, this menu displays interval data (Time frame - Interval) options. If you have switched to another time frame and want to return to the interval data menu, select the View Interval Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOS menu.
  • Short-term data—information from one or more short-term intervals
A short-term interval is 15, 30, or 60 seconds long. The short-term interval characteristics are defined in BBPARM library member BBDTST xx.

If you want to see which options display short-term data (Time frame - ShortTerm), select the View ShortTerm Menu option at the top of the panel to see the EZMZOSS menu. See Activating-short-term-history-data-collection on how to set up for short-term data collection and activate it.

    Tip

To see a list of all short-term views, type SHORTERM on the COMMAND line.
