Accessing the CMF MONITOR utilities


To access the CMF MONITOR utilities

  1. Display the MainView Selection Menu.
  2. Select Option Zz/OS and USS.
  3. Select Option 7CMFUTIL.The following utilities are available on the CMF Extractor Online Utilities menu:

    Option

    Description

    S - STATUS

    displays the STATUS panel

    This panel is a scrollable table that

    • indicates whether CMF MONITOR is active
    • indicates mode: Continuous Performance Monitoring (CPM) or Intermittent Performance Monitoring (IPM)
    • summarizes the activity in each mode
    • summarizes the activity of each CMF MONITOR sampler that was invoked when CMF MONITOR was started

    C - CONFIG

    displays the CONFIG panel

    This panel summarizes the main hardware and software characteristics of your system, including

    • processor type
    • operating system release number
    • amount of real storage available
    • number of online devices

    D - DEBUG

    displays the DEBUG menu

    With this menu, you can specify a CMF Extractor data area (default MVT) or an address either in commonly addressable storage or in your private address space for examination.

    P -PERUSE

    displays the PERUSE menu

    Use PERUSE to search for and examine the CMF, SMF, or RMF records of any variable-block or SMF data set and to display a hexadecimal dump of these records.
