Serialization Delay Report

The Serialization Delay Report is used to evaluate serialization-related performance issues. The report presents system-level and address space-level contention information. The following types of locks are reported:

  • CMS locks
  • CMS enqueue/dequeue locks
  • CMS latch locks
  • CMS SMF locks
  • LOCAL locks
  • CML locks

The Serialization Delay Report is produced by the SERDELAY Analyzer control statement. The statement processes SMF 72-5 records created by the CMF LOCK sampler. The CMF LOCK sampler is activated by the LOCKDATA Extractor control statement.

The report consists of the following sections:

  • Summary Section
  • Detail Section

Either section can be included or excluded by setting the SERDELAY REPORT parameter accordingly.
